Wanting to make up for our hometown lack of cultural habits and to not let die it's old cinema place we created Cineclube da Maia: a local non-profit culture organization that designs cinema events every fortnight, for more than 14 years now. Driving locals to the old velvet-seat movie theatre, or sometimes to unpredicted locations, and bringing them curated cinema and a cup of tea is what keeps us going.

The films screen on Saturday nights, every fortnight, in the city centre.
We spread the word mainly through social media – trying to reach new audiences and invite more people to come share a cup of tea with us.
Our regulars, though, don’t even need to know which film is playing – they just show up every other week.
